Visit our web site at www.victorvillehd.com or our Chapter web site at www.victorvalleyhog.com Jaelein Harris Jaelein is a 7 year old who has been diagnosed with Pontine Glioma which effects the Brain Stem. Pontine brain stem tumors affect the cranial nerves, causing symptoms related to the nerves that supply the muscles of the eye and face, and muscles involved in swallowing. These symptoms include double vision, inability to close the eyelids completely, dropping one side of the face, and difficulty chewing and swallowing. The tumor also affects the "long tracks" of the brain, with resultant weakness of the arms or legs and difficulty with speech and walking. Symptoms usually worsen rapidly because the tumor is rapidly growing. Her prognosis is not good. The Doctors have given Jaelein approximately 2 years to live. She currently resides with her parents Mark and Toni along with her grandparents. Washington Mutual (12690 Hesperia Rd in Victorville (760) 245-5327) has started a fund in her name. The Victorville Harley-Davidson/Buell Family will be collecting donations for Jaelein. Also some of the proceeds from the Victorvalley H.O.G. 2nd Annual Poker "Run Thru the Desert" on May 21, 05 will go to help out the family. If you would like to make a donation here at the shop to help out the family please see Austin Conley or Anijia Glenn.
