Flowers have 5 unequal lobes (petals), bilateral symmetry, lavender or pink or whitish, fragrant, 3 to 3.5 cm long. Four stamens have anthers, the fifth is rudimentary.
Leaves both alternate and opposite, linear, straight or slightly curved, pointed ends
